Globalization and inequality

R. Kerry Turner and Brendan Fisher comment in Nature (Environmental economics: To the rich man the spoils) the recent paper by Srinivasan and coauthors on the human costs of greenhouse emissions. Turner and Fisher make the following argument. People who do not trade remain poor. People who trade get rich. Thus, trade creates inequality (between those who trade and those who do not trade). Therefore trade is bad.
