Farm subsidies and tropical environments

In a previous post I asked whether farm subsidies in rich countries are helping to preserve wild nature in the tropics. Bruce Gardner argues in Environmental Economics that farm subsidies in the US are likely to have only a small effect on the environment of other countries. He is even unsure whether the effect is positive or negative.
